People Operations Manager

MOD is looking for an experienced HR professional to lead our HR and People Ops initiatives. The role is responsible for performance management, talent acquisition, employee onboarding, human resources, culture champion, accounts payable & receivable management, and travel coordinator. The ideal candidate will have a solid grasp of the agency ecosystem as well as the programs, functions, tools, and policies that foster engagement, efficiency, culture, and team morale.

The People Operations Manager will report directly to the VP of Operations while also working across other business functions. This role is based at our HQ in Austin, TX.


  • Lead all Human Resources functions for the business, including talent acquisition, onboarding, training, performance management, engagement, retention, and compensation
  • Collaborate with team leaders to identify needs, clarify hiring objectives, and initiate hiring processes
  • Provide leadership on people-related issues and policies across all functional areas of the business
  • Coordinate and manage employee development initiatives
  • Manage hiring, termination, and promotion process
  • Work with team members and leaders to align individual performance with company goals
  • Manage company benefits administration, including new hires, change reporting, auditing data, and answering general questions
  • Research and onboard new state entities required to scale the company
  • Maintain employee handbook and ensure all policies are up-to-date and followed
  • Develop and champion culture initiatives and people-centric strategies throughout the company to build and maintain culture across our team, regardless of location
  • Manage company people events such as on or off-site meetings and milestone celebrations
  • Conduct a semi-annual employee satisfaction survey
  • Execute semi-monthly payroll via ADP
  • Own payroll process tasks, including entering new hires and auditing payrolls before payment
  • Resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, process and reconcile credit card charges
  • Own invoicing and receivables process, including tracking invoices and reporting KPIs specific to the number received on time vs. days payable outstanding
  • Handle internal and external inquiries concerning payment and account status
  • Onboard new clients for accounts receivables and new vendors for accounts payable
  • Coordinate and book all team travel, including research into the air, lodging, and transportation options
  • Support various in-office and client hospitality miscellaneous tasks


  • 5+ years of people operations experience working in high-growth, fast-paced companies, preferably in Marketing or Advertising related businesses
  • Experience in HR compliance and employment law & regulations
  • Proven ability and experience with implementing a performance management plan
  • Experience developing and managing effective incentive compensation, benefits, reward, and recognition programs
  • Ability to think strategically but also focus on tactical and operational issues
  • Strong communication, listening, problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict management skills and experience making both operational and strategic HR decisions
  • Demonstrated effective organizational development abilities such as coaching, org design, career development, and training
  • Resourceful, detail-oriented, and highly organized
  • High energy and positive attitude
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects at once
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Asana, ADP, and QuickBooks
  • Must have very strong Excel skills
