GENaustin’s Big Brave

By / Agency Culture

This year, it’s Machu Picchu or bust! One of my main resolutions for 2014 was to be more active in my community and to give back. I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve recently joined forces with the incredible organization, GENaustin, to spearhead their fundraising campaign, the Big Brave.
A brief overview:
GENaustin, the Girls Empowerment Network of Austin, creates programs that support and guide girls to make wise choices as they navigate the unique pressures of adolescence. They provide young girls with a safe space to discuss important issues such as body image, dating relationships, bullying, friendships, academics, parent-daughter communication and goal setting.
About the Big Brave:
The Big Brave aims to inspire girls to find their voices and prove to them that anything is possible! To do this, Big Brave team members will be challenged to accomplish one lifelong goal from their “bucket list”. {yikes!}

As a test of endurance and as a testament to my deep love of travel, my personal Big Brave goal is to hike all 26 miles on the Inca Trail in high heels, ultimately reaching Machu Picchu. I want to show young girls that no matter how long the journey, if you work hard and stick with it, the end result will be all that much sweeter.
If you want to help out a great organization and help me reach my goal of $5,000 then you can donate here. All donations are 100% tax deductible {bonus}, and go completely towards funding GENaustin {mega bonus}.
