Bianca
The MOD Studio is happy to announce a new addition to our creative team.  Welcome to Bianca Krause, a recent graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. In addition to her work at UT, Bianca has also interned for the City of Waco – Parks and Recreation department, Texas Student Media | Creative ServicesThe Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, and The Texas Observer. In keeping with tradition, here are a few points to share about this fresh and fun designer.
1. Where do you get inspiration from?
Whenever I’m beginning a project I try to think about how my design heroes would approach the piece – how would Massimo Vignelli think about this? I’m very influenced and inspired by modern German and Swiss design – whether it be graphic design, architecture or fashion.
2. Why did you chose graphic design as a career?
I’ve always been drawn to art. When I was younger I was constantly sketching, painting, collaging etc., so I’m not surprised I’ve fallen for design. I enjoy graphic design because it’s art within a system, and I love balancing creativity and structure.
3. What do you like to do with your free time?
I know every human being in Austin says “I love live music.”, but I really do enjoy going to concerts and music festivals! The most attractive thing to me about Austin before I moved here was the access to so much music. I’ve been to Lollapalooza and Coachella, but my favorite shows of all time have been right here in Austin. When I’m not working, I’m either finding new music to listen to or looking for a band to see.
4. Favorite restaurant?
Either Veggie Heaven on Guadalupe or 888 on Oltorf.
5. How would you describe your style?
Industrial contemporary meets Destiny’s Child.
