Say Goodbye to Buyer's Remorse

IKEA: Purveyor of economical home furnishings, Swedish meatballs and now, augmented reality. For their 2014 Catalog, IKEA is offering an augmented reality function that will allow consumers to see how a particular piece will actually look in their home. All they’ll need is a smartphone or tablet.
With this function, customers can scan an item from IKEA’s print catalog, which will then place the image in the frame or their mobile device’s camera. The app uses the front cover of the catalog as a reference, allowing potential buyers to get a true-to-size representation of the piece in whatever room they so choose. We smell a game changer in the world of eCommerce. What do you think?
