ANY Plans for New Year’s Eve?
Wondering what to do for New Year’s Eve this year? The Austin American Statesman announced on Thursday that the City of Austin is bringing back fireworks this New Years Eve! Although Austin’s annual July 4th celebration was canceled this year due to extreme drought conditions, the City WILL be hosting a New Year’s celebration on December 31 from 5 to 10:30pm. Themed “ANY” (Austin’s New Year’s) this family-friendly, alcohol-free event will be held at Auditorium Shores and will showcase Austin artists, filmmakers, and musical talent culminating with a fireworks finale featuring musician Carolyn Wonderland!
“This celebration will be reflective of Austin’s character and sense of community with the wide array of arts and entertainment we value-fun for kids of all ages, homegrown live music, and an element of surprise to bring in the New Year,” said Acting Cultural Arts Manager Megan Crigger.
What a wonderful gift of family-friendly fun! Thanks Austin!
